Late Baburaoji Kale
Late Baburaoji Kale was a visionary, educationist and society reformer. His keen interest was in
providing and spreading higher education in rural area. He was a member of Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak
Mandal in 1958. later in 1970, he founded the Ajintha Education Society, as a President, and started
Sant Dnyaneshwar Mahavidyalaya at Soegaon and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College at Aurangabad.
He was deeply devoted to social work and he began his political career in 1940-41.
He secured an admission at soldier camp at Shendurn and in 1946-47, participated in Hyderabad Mukti Sangram
and was imprisoned, for a while. In addition to educational field, he also took interest in Cooperation &
Labour Movements. He was a member of ‘Hyderabad State- Peace- movement’ during 1948-50.
His political involvement was glorified by his active and continuous contributions in various positions
he had hold. He was the Secretary of Soegaon School Board, the President of Soegaon Vikas Sahakari Society,
the President of District Co-operative Board in 1961-72, the President of District Cooperative Cotton Mill,
member of ST Workers’ Union, the President of Government Mudranalaya Union and District Soldiers’ Board,
Jilha Vikas Mandal and many more. He was the President of District congress and got elected as a member of
the Maharashtra Vidhansabha in1967 and 1971. Late Shri Baburaoji Kale was an elected member of Parliament,
at Lok Sabha (1971-77). He was an organizer of Marathwada Region Congress in 1976 and got unanimously elected
at Vidhan Parishad from Aurangabad District Local Swarajya 1976. He was committed political figure in Indira
Congress and was nominated as a Vice-president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress in 1980.
