Late Baburaoji Kale, a freedom-fighter and education-reformer had established the Ajintha Education Society in 1971 at Aurangabad. In that time-period only few colleges were imparting under graduate education in the city of Aurangabad. It was not possible for the students of rural area of Aurangabad district to come down to Aurangabad. He wisely noted the difficulties of the wards faced, who were mostly belonged to low- income -group farmer families, in joining the Higher Education so he started the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Mahavidyalaya in Aurangabad and Sant Dnyaneshwar Mahavidyalaya in Soegaon in June 1971.
Presently, Shri Rangnath Baburaoji Kale is at the apex position of the Ajintha Education Society. there are fourteen inducted members to look after the education development of three under graduate colleges. Shri. Prakash Baburaoji Kale is the Secretary of Ajintha Education Society. In memory and honour of Late Baburaoji Kale, the Ajintha Education Society has established an Arts, Commerce and Science College in Ajintha, Tq. Sillod, Dist. Aurangabad in the year 2001.
