The college was started in June 2001 with the faculty of Arts at the village Ajanta. It is a historical place ruled by Mughals, Rajput, Marathas and Nizam Shahi. About at the distance of 10 km away from the village, the world-famous caves listed under UNESCO World Heritage Sites of India in 1983 are located. The Ajanta caves are rockcut Buddhist cave monuments dating 2nd century BCE to about 480 CE. They were under coverd in jungle and mounts of soil untill accidently discovered in 1819 by a colonial British officer Captain John Smith on a tiger-hunting party.
In 2014-15 the faculty of Science and Commerce were allocated by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Presently, as per Maharashtra Public Universities ACT, 2019, we are running faculty of Humanities with Bachelor of Arts course, Faculty of Commerce and management with B.COM course and Faculty of Science and Technology with B.Sc. course. The college offers the revised curricula to all faculties as ‘Credit and Choice Based System’ with garding. The Computer Science is made one the optional subjects in B.Sc. three-year- degree courses with other optional combination groups in the subjects. The university has made some papers compulsory to first-year and second -year viz-Environment Science, Computer Science, Indian Constitution.
